Dragons Abreast Dragon Boat Challenge for corporate/social crews 25 October 2008

Thanks to the generous participation of all the teams, and the contribution of time by Canberra Dragon Boat Association members, Dragons Abreast ACT members, and many, many others, we raised $25,000 in 2008 (a new record) which was distributed to breast cancer charities, including Dragons Abreast Australia, Breast Cancer Network of Australia, Clare Holland House (the Hospice), and the Otis Foundation.

In October each year, on the weekend nearest to Australia's Breast Cancer Day, Dragons Abreast ACT holds its Corporate and Social Challenge Regatta. The Pink Lady Shield, generously donated by Brendan Smyth MLA, is awarded each year to the fastest team. The Sylvia Flaxman Cup, donated by the Flaxman family, is awarded to the social team most in keeping with Dragons Abreast aims of participation and inclusiveness.
