NHMRC entered our first regatta in March of last year.  We then went on to compete in last October's Dragons Abreast 2008 Dragon Boat Challenge.  It was in preparing for this event that we took the name Cobras.

We next competed in a CDBA organised event the following March, at which time we were glad to partner up with the John Curtin School of Medical Research.

We also got our own uniforms designed - they are a variation on an old symbol for medicine - the snake wrapped around a staff.  For our t-shirts the staff became a paddle and the snake a cobra.  The colours of purple and green come from the Suffragette movement of the late 1800s/early 1900s.
