Race Rules (see also the CDBA Rules and Regulations)

10's teams:  minimum 10 padders, drummer and sweep

maximum 12 paddlers, drummer, sweep, coach/manager and 2 reserve paddlers.

20's teams: minimum 16 padders, drummer and sweep

maximum 20 paddlers, drummer, sweep, coach/manager and 4 reserve paddlers.

Open teams:            any combination of male/female paddlers

Mixed teams:            equal numbers of male/female paddlers

Womens teams: all women paddlers

Social teams:            any combination of male/female paddlers with no more than 2 paddlers who have previously competed for a dragon boat club in 'sports' events at regattas

DA teams:            all paddlers must have had breast cancer, except for 20's teams which require a minimum of 16 paddlers to have had breast cancer

Sweeps:            male or female, any age, CDBA competency checked or self-declared competency

Drummers:            male or female, any age

Paddles:            AusDBF Racing Paddle specification, or as provided by the CDBA

Race briefing:            on site at 8.00am, Saturday 8 November

Entry fees (dragonboating)

$30.00 per person for first event

$10.00 per person for each additional event except for:

·        registered members of Dragons Abreast clubs; and

·        sweeps and drummers

Cut-off dates

Masters registration: 30 September 2003

Sports acceptance: 17 October

Acceptance after 17 October only if it does not alter the draw
