Illawarra Dragons Abreast was formed in 2002 by members of the Illawarra Breast Cancer Support Group. At present we have 35 members.
We provide the opportunity for women who have had a diagnosis of breast cancer to participate in a fun sport where friendship, support and encouragement are readily available.
Illawarra Dragons Abreast is a member of Dragons Abreast Australia and Dragon Boats NSW.
Illawarra Dragons Abreast won a Healthy Cities award in 2005. We received the award for our continued participation in the Shellharbour Festival of Sport and for using the event as a means to show women that there is life after breast cancer.
We train in the winter Sunday morning 8am on the water, at The Rowing Club Northcliffe Drive, Warrawong . Please come and join us in our new boat.
