DBWA was recently invited to the not yet completed purpose built rowing facility currently under construction here in WA. Several dragon boat crews and other rowing/paddling groups attended and competed in some exhibition races.

It was all about the politicians, but we managed to steal the show once again! The girls managed to get the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure (Alana) and Minister for Sport and Recreation (John) not only in pink rashies but in the boat paddling!

Although the journos got it wrong (surprise) we got a personal mention from both the ministers and promotional material was handed over about DAA.

The team had organized workshops, a fundraising fashion parade and a fabulous dinner followed at Granita’s Restaurant in Fremantle – my thanks to our host Sam Monzu for his fantastic hospitality – the food was great!
