Touch of pink luncheon 2008
Dragons Abreast Wagga Wagga held a “Touch of Pink” Luncheon on 4 May 2008 to raise funds for the purchase of a Dragon Boat.
Lee Massey, founding coordinator of the Wagga groups says “Our group consists of 14 members locally but we are part of a strong national organization, Dragons Abreast Australia, that is celebrating 10 years of paddling. We are comprised of breast cancer survivors of various ages from a great variety of backgrounds, athletic abilities and interests. We promote breast cancer awareness and education through the sport of dragon boat racing. ” Lee continues “We offer an opportunity to get fit, share laughs and most important of all have lots of fun with those who are also travelling the journey with breast cancer ”
The three course luncheon was held at the Garden Court Restaurant on Sunday 4 May 2008 from 1.00pm.
