The Only Adelaide Dragon Boat Team which is a member of “Dragons Abreast Australia” - Dragons Abreast Adelaide warmly welcomes breast cancer survivors and supporters to our team. We are always looking for new members to join our team.
We have a team meeting after practice on the third Saturday of each month and this continues when we have stopped paddling during the winter. This is a good chance to keep in touch and for new members to meet the team.
Some important points if you are thinking about joining our team: –
Dragons Abreast Adelaide is in the category of a ‘social team’ under the auspices of the Water Warriors Dragonboat Team.
Being affiliated to the Water Warriors has provided us with a number of benefits including receiving regular coaching from the Water Warriors, being able to take part in competitions if we wish, as well as membership of the local Dragonboat Association.
Whilst being under the umbrella of Water Warriors we are still able to maintain our separate identity as a breast cancer survivor and supporters team.
In recognition of our partnership with Water Warriors we are known as “Warriors Abreast” for local social regattas.
If you want more information about the team please use contact details above.
If you are planning on coming out to practice it is worth calling just to check that practice is on- sometimes it is cancelled if weather is inclement etc.
Dragons Abreast Adelaide practices at the West Lakes Aquatic Reserve on Bower Road every Saturday morning – meet at 8.30am, paddle from 9.00 to 10.00am.
The season runs from September until the end of April.
