On Sunday 21st of July Dragons Abreast Ballarat celebrated their 10th Anniversary over lunch at the local Ballarat Golf Club Restaurant. There were over 50 people - current members, past members, partners, visitors from Dragons Abreast Bendigo, Melbourne, Geelong and Peninsula and others.
The atmosphere was great with lots of talking, laughter and remembering our past. Dragons Abreast Ballarat started when there was no water in our lake (Lake Wendouree) and we didn’t have a boat. It was with the support of other clubs that we learnt how to paddle developed our club, and made long lasting relationships.
There were lots of raffle prizes, lucky seat prizes and giveaways. Everyone left with something. We had a publication made with a story of our history, and laminated placemats with photos on them. Photos were taken of all of those who attended and photos of each group represented.
It was a great time to catch up, reminisce the past and think about our future and why Dragons Abreast was formed and how we can move on to our next 10 years.
